You don’t have permission to save the file “steve fcp.fcpbundle”

I am running FCP X and trying to back up my FCP libraries.

A file/new allows me to type a new file name and then tells me: You don’t have permission to save the file “steve fcp.fcpbundle”

I have made the external drive read and write for 'everyone' - still the same message.

Any assistance appreciated.
