After upgrading to High Sierra the Canon ip3500 printer no longer works. There does not seem to be a driver available. I get a message to go to the App Store but nothing is there, nor on the Canon site. Is there a workaround? It seems incredible that a relatively recent and expensive printer is suddenly obsolete.
According to Canon website the last drivers for your Pixma were for Mac OS X Mountain Lion which was 5 years ago.

I have successfully used Vuescan before with a Canon scanner that would not work but in this case I am more concerned with the printer. If I install Vuescan will the printer print?
Forget that I am so used to scanner questions that I went into automatic mode, apologies.
Theoretically I have the driver for Mountain Lion but I will try re-installing. It might have been corrupted. And I have contacted Vuescan to check compatibility. Thanks for your help.
Vuescan replied (very good service) but they don't support this printer-only model. So I'll try re-installing the driver.
