How do I delete the chess app from my MacBook Air?

How do I delete the chess app from my MacBook Air? It downloaded without my request after a recent upgrade and will not respond.

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015)

There has always been a chess app (to the best of my knowledge) and it has been as integral as the other built in apps. As such you cannot get rid of it but it is not absorbing much RAM. Just ignore it.

Chess is an application which is distributed with MacOS. Maybe this:

Yes - in launchpad it's under 'other', but no longer on the main desktop screen.
