Unfortunately, yes, it's normal.
That's the combined size of the actual OS and all its libraries. It surprises me that Apple stills offers 125GB SSD option considering how bloated its latest OS are 😞 - it should start from 250GB really!

Well you responded to an old post, but you are incorrect. The OS takes less than 30 Gig for the default system and applications. User accounts and applications you add will take up the rest of the space.
