Quicklook service locks SMB shared files

Since upgrading to High Sierra, I'm running into a pesky problem with SMB shares. When I browse a shared folder in Finder and preview a video file (space bar), I cannot delete the file afterwards "This operation can't be completed because the item xy is in use." It then creates a ".smbdeletexyz" file which is never actually deleted from the folder.

I have disabled the "Show Icon Preview" option, but that didn't help. I've found out that actually, the quicklookuiservice is causing this problem. It still lists the files I previewed in the "Open Files and Ports" section in Activity Monitor. If I force quit this service, I can delete the folder with the file in it without problem.

Is there any way of forcing quicklookuiservice to release the files after the preview ends?
