I tried to update to High Sierra last night but it seems to have lost the install package half way through it.

Seem to have lost the install package

getting the following message

MacOS could not be installed on your computer

The path/System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg appears to be missing or damaged

quit the installer to restart your computer and try again

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6), null

Try downloading it again (maybe use safe mode). See How to download macOS High Sierra - Apple Support.

Try recovery mode. Do a first aid test then try reinstalling the macOS (you don't need to erase unless this fails). See About macOS Recovery - Apple Support.

I seem to be stuck between the log in/reboot screen and then then the screen with the error message. I don’t have any other options
