I havent used my iphone 4 in a few years and i just found it and it wont let me download snapchat because it says i need to download the ios 9.0 but you cant do that on the iphone 4 what do i do to get snapchat

The last iOS for iPhone 4 was 7.1.2 and cannot go any higher. So you cannot use this application.

And its telling me to connect it to itunes. i do, and i do the walk thru and get nowhere. then i try to update the ios and it want let me there either! so Apple here is a Question for you! What are we suppose to do when we are on medical leave and cant afford the 8. or X just throw it away. a perfectly good scratch free looks brand new phone. Just throw it out? That aint right at all!

All companies stop software support as the hardware cannot handle it. I have an three year old android tablet I can't use Netflix on and many more apps as the software cannot be updated. Also there is plenty of affordable options like the iPod Touch (6th Generation), iPhone 5s, or iPhone 6 which can all get the latest iOS 11. Many carriers still have the 5s or 6 and there majorly marked down now.

That Feedback is more appropriate for the developer who has not provided a compatible version for their customers with older devices.

There is no solution, unless you try to contact Snapchat's developer team, and ask if they still have an old version to download (but I don't think so).
