unable to send email

Ever since the last update (week of 2017-11-05) now I can't send an email. What to do?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), wipe, downgrade, then upgrade

Here's what worked for me:

1 - Quit Mail

Optionally:

a) Before quitting Mail, take account offline by doing Preferences -> Accounts -> (click account) -> uncheck the box that says "Enable this account"

b) I also went into Keychain and deleted the information pertaining to my email account. User discretion is advised. 😎

2 - Go to System Preferences -> Email Accounts

3 - Remove your email account

4 - Add it back in 🙂
