The High Sierra version of Photos has an Imports album that displays the imports by date over several months.

In addition, I created a "Date Added" smart album with the instruction "Date Added>is in the last>1000 years". It displays all photos in the library, including the newly imported ones, by date added.

Do you not have an Imports album in your Photos sidebar?
