MacBook will not boot or recover

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro i7 with 8gb ram 1TB SSHD. Internet speed is 1gb download Fiber. Everything is backed up before this happened. I went to erase and reinstall High Sierra but have been unable to do so. The Apple Logo whn starting up has lines in it and the progress bar is not straight but shifted. Here is what I have done. thus far:

  • Tried Recovery all key combinations- it shows internet with globe spinning loads, then goes to white/gray screen. left it for 12+ hours just in case.
  • Used Target Disk Mode to erase the drive and then reinstall. It restarts but then goes to white screen.
  • Removed drive then connected via usb cable to my sons macbook. Wiped and reinstalled High Sierra from App Store. Will start my sons laptop just fine. When reinstalled in mine it tries to start and has same lines etc, then just goes to white then will restart on its own and repeats.
  • I am running Apple Hardware Test from internet now. Quick test no problems. Now running extended test. Will post results soon.

I fear the board is fried but wanted to see if others have seen this.

Any thoughts?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), i7 8gb 1TB SSHD
