iPhone 7 plus WiFi connectivity issue

I've had my iPhone 7 Plus for a few months now, and it's been working beautifully. My boyfriend just bought the iPhone 8 Plus, and his works perfectly fine. Once I updated to 11.1.1, my apps would not load when opened, and my phone would just not connect at all. I thought maybe it was just my WiFi connection at work, but then I noticed that it also wasn't working at my apartment, or at my moms home. Any time I try to open simple apps like Instagram or Snap chat or Facebook, all I get is that dreaded spinning loading circle.

Aside from all of that, I woke up today and was surfing through Facebook thinking that the connection had fixed itself, when I realized that the only reason that my Facebook was connected, was because my phone was using cellular. The WiFi on my phone had been on, and showed connected. But the phone itself was not utilizing the WiFi, and instead using cellular. So now I've used cellular data on my plan and have little left for the remainder of my billing cycle.

I live off of my phone. I use it for homework, I use it for e-mailing, I use it for scheduling and payments. My life is on this phone, and with my phone acting this way, I am unable to complete any of my everyday tasks that require this phone.

Please help.

I would try the steps provided in following support guide (even sections 6 and 7):
