windows 10 boot camp fails in setup

I am trying to install windows 10 on a mac book pro

I downloaded the ISO and copied to the hard disk

the boot camp assistant seems to work OK

When it reboots I see the windows setup screen.

However after a few minutes it reboots into MAC OS

The BOOTCAMP partition is visible as a device but no files are showing

it is not showing in the system preferences startup screen

there is an error about machine check.

also it does not show if booting and holding down the options key.

The only option from the boot camp assistant is to remove the BOOTCAMP partition - this does work.

Any ideas ?
