I have had my apple watch for a few years, but i have stopped wearing the Milanese Loop that came with it as it is snagging on my clothing , near the section where the loop enter the watch it seems to be breaking a bit, and a sharp edge has developed, no abuse or anything, does anyone else have this issue?
It appears that you are going to have to replace your watch band. Things can wear, and once it gets caught on something, it can pull it further out.
You said you have had the watch for a few years. Before the Apple Watch, with the exception of those few plastic/rubber digital watches I used to wear for work purposes, I've gone through watch bands with other watches. Those are wear items, and the are not expected to last forever. The band should have a warranty the same as the watch, so if the watch is still under warranty, then the band would be. You could make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple store to have it examined. They will explain your options from there.
I have put a leather one on for now Chris, just seems that the loop was so expensive and didnt last that long at all...
