iOS 11.1.1
my new iPhone X will not let me update to iOS 11.1.1 because it is restoring from an iCloud back up. It should no longer being resoring. I’m also getting a weird pop . Any suggestions?up messGemessage

That's normal. Be patient. Restoring backups from iCloud can take a long, long time especially when a new iOS update has recently come out when, at the same time, millions of people are getting new iPhones all around the world (heavy iCloud server traffic.) The weird (as you put it) popup is a new one on me but I immediately assume it's probably it's an app that can't be downloaded from the app store because it's in the process of being modified e.g. being updated from 32- to 64-bit operability. Touch OK and look at your home screen and see if any app icon is missing or greyed out.
