[ MY UPGRADES ] locate your apple product to view available OWC upgrade/updates

Your model lists an assortment of various parts from above ~ using your supplied info:

Upgrades for Mac mini (2.40 GHz, Mid 2010) - eshop.macsales.com/ upgrade result.

To get the largest yet most affordable capacity drive replacement for main HDD bay

is usually advised. Though your machine could use the dual-drive kit, my preference

to keep serviceable optical drive (because I've no superdrive) is an option to consider.

The 'owc mercury SSD' has things going for it. Also for older PPC macs with ATA/IDE,

an upgrade path with Legacy version is quite suitable to gain performance with those.

In any event...

Good luck & happy trails! 🙂

Keep in mind that the 2010 Mac Mini is SATA II 3Gb/s and so you need to make sure that the SSD is SATA II 3Gb/s or backwards compatible to SATA II 3Gb/s.

Personally I have PNY SSDs in my 2010 Mac Mini and both 2012 Mac Mini's. I've had the PNY CS1111 in my 2010 for over 4 years and it has never had a single issue or problem. I have the PNY CS1311 SSDs in my 2012 Mac Mini's, but if you notice the CS1311 is backward compatible to SATA II 3Gb/s and would also work in the 2010 Mac Mini.
