BeatsX problem switching between apps

IPhone 8, iOS 11.1.1

Beats X connects fine with my iPhone but when switching between apps - especially FaceTime and others, it’s unpredictable to use the BeatsX. This is very inconsistent and troubling. I have reset network settings, turned off Bluetooth on and off but frequently I just can’t hear anything and the microphone also does not work through the BeatsX even though it’s selected everywhere. Any ideas ?

Hello nospamvinu,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that when your Beats X are selected to be used with apps like FaceTime that they are not working as expected. The following articles have steps which will help resolve issue with sound and microphone issues:

Thanks for your suggestions.

These are basic troubleshooting steps that have to do with physical problems with the headphones. The three pictures I posted show that its either a Bluetooth or connection issues - not a physical one - because when it works its very clear. It ALWAYS works with Apple Music - but when I try to switch from Apple Music to another App, selecting the Beats does not work. I had further conversation with Apple and they have agreed to take the headset in for repair. Lets hope it saves the problem.
