How to restore my text messages from backup

You restore the phone from a backup that was made when the messages existed. A restore from a backup is all or none. You cannot pick and choose what you would like to restore. If the messages were on the phone when the backup was made, then they will be restored. Just remember, that everything done since that backup was made will be deleted.
