When Apple replaces a iPhone under warranty is it new or refurbished from the box they open up ?

I’m having issues with my iPhone 8 Plus on the updated iOS

It’s fairly new I’m just passed my 14 days I just want to know is my phone going to be replaced new or refurbished well still being under warranty

It depends. The warranty statement says it can be either. However, given the time of release, it could be either. Anyway, a device replaced under warranty could not be identified by looking at it, and it will carry the balance of the original warranty or 90 days, whichever is longest. I would not concern myself. No one has a way to know if it is new or refurbished. Service replacements are in plain box, and there is no way to know what it is.
