I just got an iPhone 6 s I had an old iPhone 4 but all of my messages it transferred over from over a year ago none of my new messages are on there and on my Photos either I've had iCloud so I don't know what's up with that. It just restored photos that I deleted a couple of years ago and messages for the first of 2016 but nothing is current

It sounds like you restored a backup of the iPhone 4 to the 6S, and the newest backup you have was from the time of those messages and photos. Restoring a backup replaces everything on the phone with the contents of the backup.

Do you think if I back up my four that will then download it to the six? Because all the apps on this are old ones too
