Found a lost apple watch - what to do?

I work at a Wellness center where all sorts of electronic devices seem to get lost and left behind; and typically it's jewelry, headphones, or watches. Well an apple watch popped up a while back, so one of my coworkers naturally logged it in our report. Typically people come up to the desk or call when looking for lost items, but we've heard nothing for a while now. I own an apple watch and since this watch was dead we figured let's plug it in and see if we can find out some info. We've had no find my iphone or anything has been used and we still haven't heard of anyone asking for this. Since it's locked and no way to know who's it is and no one trying to claim it, what do we do? Mind you it's been in a drawer for a few months now. I'd be perfectly fine sending it to apple. It's basically a worthless watch waiting for its owner. What can I do or should I do?

Hi

I suggest that you hand the Apple Watch in to the police, locally to the Wellness centre.

Apple will not advise you of the previous owner's contact details, nor will Apple pass your details on to them or accept the watch if you send or hand it in.
