What is that socket called where you insert your charge cable?

Hey, what is that plug-in socket technically called where you insert the plug to charge your iPhone? Is that called "lightning"? What is the female end called? Is that a "socket", a "plug-in" or a "jack"? I need to know the official, technical name for that?
