Issues re-installing iTunes after a hard drive swap

I upgraded my PC and installed a SSD hard drive keeping my original hard drive as an additional drive. my SSD drive became the C Drive, whilst my additional drive became the G drive. I needed to replace my old original drive due to a mechanical fault a short while later, however the replacement drive remained the G drive and had the stored content transferred onto it. Through my upgrading process I upgraded from Win 8.1 (64-bit) to Win 10 (64-bit), iTunes worked with no issue until the replacement of my original hard drive to the new one.

I attempted to uninstall iTunes in order to reinstall it, however due to the directory path having changed an auto uninstall was not possible. I attempted to manually uninstall iTunes and all associated apple products in order to reinstall them. I was unsuccessful, in that when I found a guide on how to do it, I had deleted the required folders in the incorrect order.

I am desperate to reinstall iTunes so that I can once again enjoy my music and transfer content to my iPad and iPod, I seem to be left with an Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support (32 & 64 bit) applications along with the bonjour application. If I try uninstall them it says it cannot find the directory path, I then need to manually attempt to delete the folders, however, it mentions the folder is being used by another program at that time. If I stop the Bonjour process it does not seem to help at all.

PLEASE PLEASE could someone a bit brighter than I am try assist me and my PC illiterate mind!

Many thanks for the assistance!

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling right click on the downloaded setup file and use run as administrator. It may also help to temporarily disable any non-Microsoft anti-virus.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, or want to revert to an older version if the current one won't work properly for you at the moment.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
