Pairing an iPhone with 2007 Prius audio system

I would like bluetooth connectivity that includes more than phone calls. What is the best solution for pairing my iphone for listening to podcasts or downloaded books or music that are on my phone?

I suspect your car is a bit old for this. You might explore Amazon or other places for add-ons to your car. Alternatively, get a newer car with all those features that you want. Apple didn't even make an iPhone in 2007.
