Completed Reminders, how to delete?

I have thousands of complete reminders on the reminder app. I have tried to clear out the list and it never works. I looked for a method on the iPhone, and on the app for Mac OS and found none. On iCloud.com there is a way to clear completed which looks like it worked, until i log back in. The list will go empty, i will then log out and later log back in and they are all there again.

Is there any way to eliminate the completed reminders?

Thanks

On my mac, I select a completed reminder and hit the delete key. If you hold down the shift key after deleting the top one, when you select the last one, it should select them all.

Thanks Eric,

I was looking for a way to do this and I missed one thing. When you select the reminder list, i needed to scroll up a little to find completed. I then did what you suggested and it seems to keep them deleted. On the iCloud.com reminder page, they would only delete until you log out. when you logged back in they would all be back there again.

Thanks again.
