My iPhone 6's wifi strength is so weak. I have full bars if I sit directly next to the router, but as soon as I leave the room I lose all bars when I could roam the whole house before? My laptop wifi still works, but my phone can't reach that far any

My iPhone is a 6.

I have already tried to:

-Update it

-Reset all network settings

-Delete as much space as possible

-Reset my router

I used to get full wifi bars upstairs on my iPhone, but now it only connects when I sit next to the router. The signal strength of my router is fine, as my MacBook still connects with full bars upstairs, just my phone cannot locate it at all if I step more than five metres away!

If I take it back to apple will I have to pay for this to be fixed? Im spending so much money going over my data!

This area is not to fix iphone problems.. it is to fix apple airport router issues..

Do you actually have an apple router, extreme, express or time capsule??

If not it is better to redirect your question to hardware or software issues to do with iphone6 and most particularly if you just updated to iOS 11.1

we have found it important to remove all the old wireless router connections.. even including the current one.. shut off the phone and restart it .. and then rediscover the wireless..

If your router has 2.4ghz and 5ghz wireless.. make sure they are on different names.. and force the phone to use 2.4ghz.. 5ghz has poor range even if it is faster when close up.

It depends on the problem but if the phone is out of warranty .. yes. If it is just settings no.. only if it is actually faulty.

Since you have already done a great job troubleshooting, you may want to consider restoring the iPhone through iTunes. This would put a fresh copy of the iOS on your iPhone. If you go this route, be sure you backup your phone. Then when you are setting up your phone, you get all your content back. If the issue continues, i would recomment restoring it and setting it up as new. You can still sign into your Apple ID and get icloud information back if it is toggled in settings. The issue is probably software related if you are still getting a WiFi signal to your iPhone.
