Can not download from Apple store

I’m using iPhone X and trying to download some apps. When I choose an app a message comes up asking to double tab to install. When I do that, nothing happens. I have tried to switch off and on my phone, signed out of App Store and back, nothing has worked so far. Please help

I think you have to double-click the iPhone X’s Side Button to invoke Face ID and start the download of the app you chose.

Then continue looking at your device and your transaction is validated in no-time. Download begins and the new software is installed on your device.
