Hi.
Final Cut (10.3.4) is not retaining my browser settings when I quit and reopen. I always reduce the clip size a bit and set the length slider to single clip, but it defaults back to larger, multi-frame strips every time I relaunch. Is this new behaviour, or do I have a preferences problem?

It looks like you have a problem with the preferences file.
It should be fixed by deleting preferences.
Hold down command and option while starting and click Delete Preferences.
Reopen your library, set the preferences as you want them and see if they stick.

Ok, thanks. But what else does preferences cover? I.e. What are all the settings I need to jot down and redo once I trash them? My whole setup has been quite fine tuned to my liking over the years!

There are not that many preferences.
If you like go to Final Cut Pro->Preferences, then select each of the panes (General, Editing, Playback) and make a screenshot. Then just redo them.
You do not have to worry about Destinations as they are stored separately and will not be undone.
Actually, I've just tried it (deleting preferences) and it didn't work. FCPX is still forgetting my clip browser preferences between application restarts. Very annoying. Is there a deeper level of setting I can reset?
It was more the interface settings I was thinking of, but I guess it's all pretty self-evident now. Will do a screenshot of that too. Thanks for the help.
