Macbook 2,1 Working with 4gb RAM

I maybe bucking the trend here but from what I've read the late 2006 Macbook can only address 3gb RAM max. Well I purchased a matched pair of 2gb Kingston RAM chips installed them and under both OSX 10.6 and Windows 7 it shows all 4gb being addressed.

Do I have a Frankenstein Mac!
