Since upgrading to OSX 10.13.1 I get error message “USB STICK” can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found.

Hi, we also faced this problem after updating a few systems to 10.13.1.
An additional reboot after the install fixed the problem for us.
It seems to be related to Finder as you can open Terminal and cd /Volumes and browse the USB drive there even when it isn't opening in Finder.

I have just encountered the same problem. To resolve it I closed all open apps but left the usb memory stick plugged in and restarted the computer. After the re-boot the stick showed on the desktop and in Finder - phew, relief! I was then able to use the memory stick normally.
I had this same issue, I just relaunched Finder in the Force Quit menu and it resolved the error message.
A restart worked for me as well.
