I just tried buying more icould storage and it stayed the same and didnt go through

I tried to upgrade my iCloud storage from the free 5 GB to the $.99 a month 50 GB iCloud storage. But when I hit by it still stayed at five. I don’t know if it just didn’t go through or somethings wrong. I tried closing the app and reopening it and it still says I’m at fiveGB of storage. Any suggestions?
