Is there a way to customize or NOT do any part/all of this?

It looks like this is a default action to both start the MBP when the cover opens or likewise when off and plugging in an AC Adapter. Can either or both of these start up options or on MacOS High Sierra be controlled to disallow them?

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS Sierra (10.12.5)
