Reinstall macOS after hard drive replacement
Hello!
I finally crossed over to the dark side (lifelong windows user) and got myself a 13.3" Mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Let me start off by saying what a wonderful machine it is. I've used it for about three hours and I'm already wondering why I didn't get one sooner.
ANYWAY, it currently has a 500GB hard drive, and I"m looking to upgrade it to a 2TB hard drive. I've looked online and the actual replacement looks like a breeze. My question however is this: When I replace the hard drive, can I "clone" the existing one onto the new 2TB HD? I"m not sure how to go about doing this. I am currently updating it to High Sierra, and once it's done, plan to replace the hard drive.
It came with lots of useful software that I don't have the CD's for, and I don't want to lose those programs. Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
