When will podcasts be available on Apple Watch?

After purchasing my Apple Watch with LTE, I was very disappointed to learn there is not an easy way to listen to my favorite podcasts. When working out, I would much rather listen to a podcast than music. I tried that 3rd party app, but it takes forever to download to my watch. The main reason I got this Watch was to not have to carry my iPhone with me when exercising. Very frustrating after spending so much money on it.
