Thank you! I think it is working now. Still testing but now I am getting text, mail and messenger notification sounds through both iPhone X AND my apple watch.

Have you already checked sounds in each app, going to Settings>Notifications?

Have you already tried a forced restart? Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

Regards

Yes I have tried all of those suggestions and contacted Apple. Apple is saying since I have an apple watch and it is receiving notifications that my iPhone X will not receive them also while the iPhone X is locked...No sound or banner notifications. I don't think this is correct. My apple watch notifications is set to mirror my iPhone.

This was in another thread and it might help you:

"If you turn off Wrist Detection (on your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch > Passcode - turn off Wrist Detection), then all notification alerts will be delivered to both devices."

Hi there,

How did you fix this? I have my iwatch connected to my iphone X and do not get any sounds coming through my iphone. Or my notifications on my lock screen.

The only way it seems to work is to turn off my bluetooth and disconnect my watch which I'm reluctant to do.

Actually just turned my wrist detection off on my watch and sent a test text and the notification & sound did work on both my iwatch and iphone x.

Weird but if it's working - not having my Apple Pay cards on my iwatch is a small price to pay I suppose. Not ideal but I'd rather receive notifications on both devices. Lets just wait for a fix I suppose.
