.Epub covers gone

I have a MacBook Air and I'm working in Sierra.

For some reason all my .epub cover images have disappeared. I only get the standard iBook cover image for everything when viewing in folder. Can someone tell me what was lost and how to restore them back?

I get the same thing with my mp3 and m4b files. No cover images are able to be viewed.
