Question:

Question: Numerous kernel panics

I recently purchased a refurbished MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012, 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB). It had an earlier version of OS installed but I updated it to Sierra (10.12.6) and restored a backup from my previous (older MacBook Pro). Although I have been using my MacBook very sparingly, I have had numerous Kernel Panics, all "type 14 = page fault" with an error code of 0x0000000000000010. Often, the KP occurs at night or when I'm away and not using the computer, although usually my browser (Firefox) and my mail program (Thunderbird) are running. I'm not sure if it's related but I'm also getting many reports of excessive wakeups in my Error folder. Since many of the excessive wakeups seemed to be related to Firefox and Firefox often crashes, I tried Safari for about a week and, while I didn't see any problems related to Safari, I still had KPs and other issues such as "syncfaultsd quit unexpectedly" and "com.apple.WebKit.WebContent_(date and time)_Macintosh.memory_resource.diag". Periodically, I may have a printer or my backup drive attached but most of the problems happen when there are no external devices attached. I have reinstalled Sierra (10.12.6) several times and I've disabled or deleted plugins, etc. but I still continue to have a lot of faults. I'm including the latest KP log and I'll be happy to post any of the other logs if they might be helpful. Thanks in advance for any ideas on diagnosing the issue. If not, I'll take it to the Apple Store and see if one of the gurus can help.

You should probably take it to the Apple Store.

Kernel panics are primarily caused by loaded third-party kernel extensions and hardware. You don't have any loaded third-party kexts, so it is probably a hardware fault.

Could be RAM. Is that the original RAM? If not, and you still have it, replace the original RAM and test.

In addition to Barney's advice, most posters recommend not using cleaning programs. They can destroy normal computer operations.
