I want to send and recieve messages off of the iPad. I have an iPad but my phone won't stay on long enough for me to connect it by phone. Is there another way to do it? Maybe by computer?

Hi. Only a phone can send/receive SMS/MMS, because they travel over the voice network, not the internet. You can link your iPad to a working iPhone, then use it for messaging. If your iPhone doesn't work, you can look for apps in the app store, but there will be a charge for such services.
