New to iCloud - Work with iCloud Drive - rsync iCloud and HD

Hello all!

I have some projects: HTML - Databases - LaTeX

I would like to work on it on my Laptop and on my iMac seamlessly. For this iCloud was developed for, it seems to me. In any case, it is amazing which possibilities are offered with iCloud when you have several devices.

But for some questions I could not find a solution. For example: I open my LaTeX project on my iCloud Drive with BBEdit. Now I want to compile it in my Terminal. Do I have to make a copy first on my HD? How to sync between iCloud and my HD on my Lap or iMac? I would like to use the command rsync on my Shell to do it. I found this guidance in the web:

http://http://quezina.blogspot.de/2013/04/sync-files-between-macs-with-rsync-and .html

But I need some help, to get it to work.

So I have a real beginners question: how you work with your iCloud projects: you leave it in the Cloud or are you syncing is first to your HD before starting your work? How you are syncing between iCloud and your local copy?

Thank you in advance

marek
