Alternative lighting chargers

I have been using official Apple Lightning cables for all my Apple devices. Yet they all seem to wear out or stop working in less than 2 months. What is worse is when my Ipad or Iphone tells me...........

"This accessory may not be supported"

I mean really. The cable that came with the phone or bought from the Apple store isn't supported? I getting sick and tired of having to plug in my devices multiple times just to get it to charge. Then waking up in the morning to find that my devices have stop charging so now I only have 30% battery to work with in the morning. This is happening with all my Apple devices with multiple cable that I currently have. The newest cable is only 3 weeks old and I'm have the same issues with it as well.

It's clear I need to find another brand of lighting cable to use. So what are the best options? It's clear that the cables that Apple are selling are complete garbage.

I'm using the same cable I received with my iPhone 5s on my iPhone 7. It is used twice daily to backup and sync the phone. The cables an last, and they also have a warranty. SO, if you are having issues with cable failure, then bring it back to Apple.

The issue you describe about multiple plug-ins to get it to start charging sound like there is something blocking the charging port on the phone. Take strong flashlight and magnifying glass to check the area for dirt, dust, lint, or other debris, and you can carefully remove any with something like a wooden toothpick. If that doesn't help, then make a Genus Bar appointment at the nearest Apple Store to have the hardware examined, to ensure that you do not have a problem with the charging circuit on the phone. There are 3rd party cables that you can buy, however they have to be MFi (Made for iPhone) certified. This has to be printed on the package.

I've been to the Genus Bar,, made sure my ports are clean, and even exchanged cables. All 4 of my Apple devices still have this problem. All devices have the current IOS updates. I've shut down my devices before plugging them in to see if that would work. It did not. I even made sure my home outlets were all working properly. My Bluetooth devices, and Windows laptops have no problems charging. That is why I'm asking which 3rd party charger would be the best.

Funny little side note. I still have my 4s with original cable, and still have never had a single issue with charging it.

I don't make recommendations as to what charger would be the best, I always say to use Apple. But since you seem to be experiencing problems, I understand your reluctance. You can use 3rd party charging sets, however as I said, you can use 3rd party devices so long as they are MFi certified. When you went to the Genius Bar, what did they have to say about the problem? You indicate that you have changed cables, but have you tried other power adapters?

😁 Yep. Went to the Apple store, and after examining my phone and my daughter IPad I was told I need to buy a new power adapter. So like an idiot I bought 2 new adapters with new cables. The first week all my devices said "This accessory may not be supported." for the new cables. It is still hit or miss when that message still comes up. It's worst when there is a new IOS update. I cringe every time I see an update now. Knowing full well I will see the not supported message right afterwords. Then on the second week it became hit or missing if my phones or Ipads would charge. I've been putting up with this for most of the year, and enough is enough. Apple has already told me they do not want me to buy a new Iphone by not putting headphone jacks on them. If I'm not able to charge my current devices with their products I might has well move on to Samsung or Google phone when my current devices (6s Plus) stops working or charging. Something I really do not want to do since I've been buying Ipads and Iphones since they first came out. But a headphone jack is a must have for me. Just like having a cable that can reliably charge my phone is a must have.

Appreciate the help, but I want to see if the 3rd party charger is going to solve the problem. That is why I was hoping for a recommendation. Since I have already sank over $150 in Apple chargers and adapters. I was hoping to be steered to a 3rd party charger to try out. I don't want to waste more money on a 3rd party charger that will not work.

I was thinking about the one that Verzion sells for $30.00. But I was looking on input on if they are worth the money.
