/Volumes folder contains 6 "Preboot" volumes

I just noticed that there are many Preboot volumes (all contain a folder with the same GUID name) in the /Volumes folder, but distil shows only one actual Preboot volume. Does this indicate a problem? What should be done to fix it?

$ ls -al /Volumes
