How do I update to iOS 11?
My iPad says that it is up to date with iOS 9.3.5. The same is true when I connect it to my computer and check with iTunes. How do I convince my 2nd Generation iPad to update to iOS 11?

Unfortunately that the 2nd Gen iPad is not compatible with the latest iOS. To disappoint you even further I just checked on Gazelle.com what the device is worth to them and you are looking at $40 - $55 depending on the ram and condition (fair - flawless).
There are still some things your old iPad can do though so all is not completely lost.
