Lost photos

I did the high sierra update and lost several years of photos in the process. How do I retrieve them?

Sorry but unless you porvide details no one can answer - your question is like I left home and got lost - how do I get back home?

We need to know what you did exctly and why you thing you have lost photos along wiht any unusual happenings ad error messages or any other information that might help

If you have multiple libraries then you need to open the correct one to see the correct set of photos - you can see if you have multiple libraries by holding down the option key while launching Photos and checking each library in the resulting select library window

Where is your Photos Library stored, gracewilde?

How did you upgrade to High Sierra? Did you make a clean install and wiped your drive, or did you install on top of the current system and did not need to restore your Photos Libraries?

Thanks for your response. I am not a very tech person and so I posed the question in the only way I knew how. I appreciate how you were able to frame it though. I did end up contacting Apple support and I will say the representative was kind and patient and I was able to solve the problem. When one is not tech savvy, the inclination is to dump technology all together b/c it feels so complicated and you get lost. Thanks for trying to help though.

Thanks for that response. I did install on top of the current system b/c that's the only way I knew. I didn't even know there was an option to do otherwise. As noted in another reply, I did contact Apple support and the representative was able to help me find the lost photos. Complex process though and took two different reps and more than three hours. Yikes.

I'm glad you could get your photos back. If you have not done so, make a backup copy of you Mac now, to keep them safe.
