Thunderbolt 2 loose connections

I have a Late 2013 model MacBook Pro. I use the Thunderbolt ports for ethernet and connecting an external display.

I've found over time the Thunderbolt port connections are becoming looser to the point where my display flickers and it's hard to keep the ethernet connection active if my desk gets bumped.

I've tried a new ethernet adapter and new displayport cable with no success.

As the machine is out of warranty, what are my options? Is this a hardware fault that should be covered anyway as it seems the weight of the adapters over time is what's caused the issue?
