Apple TV Aerial screensaver blank

I’ve tried a couple of recommended fixes like, change to Apple Photos, run the screensaver then switch back to Aerial, I’ve updated to the latest tvOS11.1 The only thing I haven’t tried is doing a full reset because I really don’t want to have to re-enter all my passwords and any other re-installs that might be required.

Any ideas?

Try putting the Apple TV into screensaver mode manually by pressing the 'Menu' button rapidly three times.

That didn’t work, either. When I hit the button three times it tried to engage the screen-saver but apparently couldn’t access the file so the action cancelled :(
