Question: iMac Internal Battery Failure

How can I tell if the internal battery on my iMac is failing? I have notice times when the clock is off 40 minutes to several hours after coming out of sleep mode. Also, the cursor is frequently slow to respond to keyboard (Apple wireless keyboard) inputs, particularly during login. Are these symptoms of a weak battery or a different problem? What corrective actions can we take?

Run either the Apple Hardware Test or the Apple Diagnostic, depending on what year model iMac you have.

see > macOS Sierra: Use Apple Diagnostics or Apple Hardware Test

Then if it passes that test, run EtreCheck and report back with the results.
