Dropped my macbook air and now the left whole side is dented/crooked. Charger still works, Headphone jack seemed okay until i plugged in my headphones. All i heard was static, when i took them out the sound stopped working completely.

I don't know what to do. I cant use the usb on that side either because its dented and no usb plug will fit in there. checked the settings, took out the headphones. Basically did all i could except for actually getting it fixed by apple. I mean, is there any other things I can do to try and fix the problem for good? Where it wont happen again if i were to plug in my headphones? If not, how much would this be to fix? Should I just get a new mac?

Hi,

The hardware is obviously damaged so nothing can be done except to replace the damaged parts. I suspect the cost would outweigh the worth of the repaired Mac, but who can say without even knowing which Mac you have?

I would bring the Mac to an Apple Store “genius” bar for a free diagnosis and from there you can decide if it's worth it to get it fixed or not: https://support.apple.com/contact
