app, requested on family sharing, won't load

My child requested an iPad-only app, via family sharing, on her iPad mini 3. The request popped up on my iPhone 6+; when I tap on the request the app won't load, the loading icon just continues to spin and spin and spin. If I try to search for the app on my phone it doesn't appear on the list but does appear if i search for it on my child's iPad, but then requires I approve it before it will download. Anyone know a fix for this??

Since it is an iPad only app, it makes sense that the app won't download to your iPhone. I suggest you have your child make the request again on her iPad mini 3 with you standing by her. (Since it appears on the list and only requires your approval, maybe you can skip that step.) Then you should approve the request on her iPad mini 3 using the "approve it in person" feature. See the "Make a request with Ask to Buy" section (step 3) in:
