Why is the screen on my iPhone X randomly going dim even with auto brightness off?

I’m using a 256 go silver iPhone X updated to 11.1.1 I’ve restarted the phone and restored it and the problem is still happening it’s not bothersome I just want to know if my phone is defective or if it can be fixed with an iOS update.

No I will be using the phone and the screen will dim and if i try to bring up the brightness using the slider it doesn’t go back up even if I set brightness to 100 percent the screen will stay dim for 5-10 minutes then the brightness will come back it’s not fro auto locking

Do you have auto-lock enabled? If so, the phone will dim as a warning that it will be locking soon.

My iPhone X will go dim and never get back to normal levels. I restored it as a new phone and it was good for a few hours then dim again. Off to the Genius Bar.
