Using Amazon's Alexa with your iMac.

I would like to know if anyone has an Echo Dot or Alexa and knows how to create commands with voice activation. Commands such as:

Turn off iMac

Turn on iMac

Play iTunes music etc.

if powered off, the iMac will not power up by having the receptacles turned on or off like a light or lamp

That may not be entirely correct. There's an option in the Energy Saver preference pane to start up automatically after a power failure which is what turning off the power outlet would be considered.

Apple devices do not interface with Amazon's Alexa, they interface and respond using Apple's Siri commands. As for turning you iMac on or off using siri, you can use Apple HomeKit devices to turn power receptacles on or off, however, if powered off, the iMac will not power up by having the receptacles turned on or off like a light or lamp, it must have its on/off button pressed.
