Photos macOS Sierra Crashes when Cropping

Cropping photos causes my 27 inch iMac (Late 2014), 32 GB, AMD R9M295X to crash every time.

This is insane.

It might be a problem with the graphics. There are several discussions about Photos on Sierra or High Sierra crashing for certain graphics cards when editing -mainly cropping or retouching. Re: Photos in High Sierra Crashing when Editing

I have heard some folks with Nvidia cards updating their drivers directly from Nvidia, but there is no such luck from AMD. This needs to be part of a Software Update.

I guess no one uses Photos except for a few of us. Or the problem is very difficult to fix, beyond Apple's engineers abilities. Probably a bit of both.
